Receiving the report, the Head of Service said that the project was embarked upon in order to examine the possibilities of installing the framework for institutionalizing a human resource management system in the Federal Civil Service, develop a model to professionalize its functions and evolve the creation of a human resource management cadre from the existing cadres in the Service.
Alhaji Sali assured the Team that the report of the study done under the auspices of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) will be examined by the management of the Federal Civil Service and all approved recommendations will be implemented accordingly.
In his remarks, the World Bank Project Team Leader, Dr. Udo Udoaka, commended the present leadership of the Federal Civil Service for its commitment to the reform programme, which he said, was clearly seen through the support the Team received during the conduct of the study exercise. Other members of the World Bank Project Team include former Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Dr. Onaolapo Soleye and Mrs. Cordelia Ikeanyi.
